Work of Art =
Painting, Sculpture, Drawing, Conceptual Work Narrative, Digital File with Instructions, Light, Choreographed Dance, Spoken Poetry or Prose, Acted Monologue of a Play, Composed Piece of Music for a Solo Instrument or Group of Instruments or other Sound Producing Devices, and/or Human Voice or Other Voices, any Other Media that can be transmitted electronically, uploaded through digital upload platform file transfer protocol application.
All and any submissions of a Work of Art must be solely the creation of the applicant. If a work of art is a collaboration, then the application must be submitted as a joint application with all creators signing the affidavit of copyright and reproduction rights ownership.
If a Work of Art is is no longer a part of applicants inventory portfolio but in a private or public collection, please provide information on that ownership and have an affidavit of ownership and release of reproduction rights signed by the collector/owner, if possible

1. Share a work of art in the format of telling a story (i.e. create a brief 1 to 4 minute video which tells the story of a work of art you have created that you feel is powerful and the creation of which had a transformative impact in your life. You may even touch upon how you feel it will impact others and be a catalyst for transformative change in the lives of others.
2. Share digital image(s) of a work of art or a group of works of art that pre-dates the work of art shared as your story
3. What impact do you hope your art will have on others? (Approximately 500 words)
4. What makes you a positive fit as an Associate Artist at the New York Center of Art (NYCA)? (Approximately 500 words)
5. Share an idea for a program you might plan then implement for visitors to NYCA that is relevant and related to your storytelling piece submitted (Approximately 750 words)
6. Write a short narrative about a future work you would like to produce if you were selected as an Associate Artist at NYCA and were scheduled a solo exhibition.
7. Imagine you are selected to collaborate with one or more other Associate Artists at NYCA, who work in the same or different media, or imagine that you are paired with an established artist represented by the NYCA Gallery, what would that project look like?
8. Discuss an artist who was inspirational to you or acted as a mentor in your life (whether just through knowledge about the artist and their practice, or via real-life time spent with that artist), what about them was inspirational or transformative in your experience with them?
